Autism Types – Symptoms of Mild Autism

Autism is a disorder of neural development characterized by a damaged theory of mind, social interaction skills and communication abilities as well as repetitive and ‘obsessive’ behaviour. All these will occur before the child reaches the age of three or may occur to a lesser degree in the other autism spectrum disorders (those disorders that are exhibit the same symptoms but to different degrees) such as Asperger syndrome and PDD-NOS which both present symptoms of mild autism, and the symptoms will continue into adulthood making them ‘pervasive developmental disorders’.
